Trademark registration in Japan
A Japan trademark application has to be filed at the Japanese Patent Office. Japan is a member of the Madrid System therefore a trademark registration in Japan using the Madrid System (International trademark registration through WIPO) is possible instead of a national trademark registration in Japan.
1. Legal basis: The Act on the Partial Revision of the Patent Act and Other Acts (Act No. 36 of May 14, 2014)
2. Requisite documents:
– Application form, Clam and abstract;
– Power of Attorney (prepare by Investone);
– 20 samples of trademark;
– Other related documents.
3. Registering period: 13-15 months from application date
